So I thought I'd licked the problem (see previous post), but once all newly-scanned (3rd time) photos were edited and inserted into the book, I put one on my desktop...just to have the visual to inspire me...and...there were several small white dots (and this is the cover shot!) I re-inspected the photos...no problem, checked my software...no problem. Obviously the scanner screen was dusty...(and I thought we had maintenance on the lab equipment ;-)
So I'm here for my LAST SCAN, armed with cleaner and cloths to clean photos and screens...and test before leaving. They're looking pretty good. Fortunately I've edited placement throughout the book (going by country), so re-inserting the new pics shouldn't be too difficult...just a little time consuming.
Must be the perfectionist in me!
